EXCEEDINGLY GROWING FAITH

Once, while Christ was on earth, the apostles said to Him, “Lord, Increase our faith.” Luke 17:5. They had the understanding that faith should grow. Nothing should remain stagnant, else it begins to die; our faith should always grow, in that way, we can enjoy greater benefits of same. Apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith growth exceedingly...” 2 Thessalonians 1:3. Their faith grew at a very fast rate; from having faith as a grain of mustard seed, their faith kept on growing until they had great faith. When faith is little, you can doubt; and when it is weak, it won’t last, it will stagger at the promises of God in unbelief. But great faith achieves uncommon results and makes you triumph in life. Now, the Scripture says that faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). You've got to feed yourself regularly with the word; from taking the milk of the word, graduate to taking the strong meat of the word; let the word of Christ dwell richly in you in all wisdom and understanding, and receive the word with a right attitude. Also, faith comes through seeing: the more you see the works of God, the more your faith in Him grows. Place yourself in an environment of faith. As it is with wisdom, so it is with faith; he who walks with men of great faith will sooner or later become men of great faith. Associate with people who can sharpen you; people who encourage you to grow; people who speak words of faith and do works of faith. Make it your priority to grow exceedingly in faith; remember that faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
