Delayed But Not Denied

Esther 6:3 NKJV Then the king said, “What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” And the king’s servants who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”

On a certain night, the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.

What really impressed me is the fact that Mordecai maintained a positive attitude and kept working for the king even though his good deed wasn't remembered. I think it's remarkable. He didn't let the fact that he was unappreciated affect his attitude toward his work and his loyalty to the king. Something for you and I to think about.

The king may have forgotten but thank God it was written down. Even if that generation passed, someone would have remembered somewhere along the line. I want you to understand that God takes note of everything we do for Him. He also notes what we do for others in His name. And unlike man, He doesn't forget! The Bible says that He is not unrighteous to forget our labour of love. Hallelujah! Hold on, stay positive; stay faithful; stay committed; do your work with joy! Men may forget, but God never forgets! Men may reward insufficiently, but God rewards abundantly! There may be seeming delays, wait! For you have need of patience, so that after you have done the will of God you might receive the promise. Hallelujah!
