MOTIVATING YOUR PASTOR

Philippians 1:3-4 NKJV "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy."

It is the duty of your pastor (spiritual leaders) to pray for you and to teach you the word of God. Here's what Samuel said to the Israelites, "Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way." But truth be told, how well he discharges his duties toward you depends on how motivated he is.

You see, your pastor or teacher is human just like you, and like any worker, it is possible for him not to discharge his responsibilities well, or to ignore them entirely. It all depends on you - how you treat him or her. Paul said he prayed for the Philippians with joy, upon every remembrance of them. Have you ever bothered to know why? It's there, he called them his partners in verse 5, and in chapter 4, he said they always gave gifts to him! It's not only when you have issues that you remember your pastors and teachers, bless them. It's for your own good!

Hebrews 13:17 says, "Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you." Did you see that? When your spiritual leaders are happy it will benefit you, and when they are not, it will be unprofitable for you. Learn and be wise.
