The Expectations Of The Wicked Shall Perish
Acts 28.6 "However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god."
The natives of Malta kindled a fire for Paul and those who were with him, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. Paul assisted in gathering sticks and laid them on the fire, unknown to him, there was a viper in them, which came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But Paul shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, the natives expected that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god. Hahaha. Hallelujah!
You know, there might be people who are waiting for you to fail; they are seeing you rising, all is well with your family, you're being celebrated here and there, your business is flourishing, but they are there, gossiping about you, waiting for when it would all come to an end; like the brothers of Joseph who envied him; they wanted to kill him but eventually sold him as a slave, and they said, We will see what will become of his dreams!
Proverbs 10.28 says that the expectation of the wicked will perish. Today, we agree with the word of God and declare that every evil and wicked expectations concerning us will perish in the name of Jesus! Just as they waited in vain for Paul to die, so will all of them waiting for us to fail wait in vain! The more they look at us, the higher we shall rise; the more they try to pull us down, the greater our testimonies will be! In Jesus name. Say Amen!
