TRIBULATION, THE PATH TO EVERLASTING JUBILATION
Acts 14:21-22 NKJV "And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, 'We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.'”
Many of us, especially in this part of the world, haven't really suffered as a result of our faith in Christ. However, it's possible that we may have been deprived of certain positions, privileges and opportunities because of our beliefs and unwillingness to compromise. It's even possible that as a result of your faith and faith-based decisions and choices, 2013 wasn't as "good" as expected.
Cheer up! I really wish I could tell you that your journey of faith would be painless and only pleasant: I wish I could tell you that you'll never have to cry or mourn in course of serving the Lord; but I can't because that won't be true. What is true is that we must through many tribulations enter into the Kingdom of God. But whatever the case, at all times, God is faithful!
Don't be like the seeds that were sown on stony ground, who received the word with gladness but withered when trials and tribulations came. Encourage yourself in the Lord; fight your fight of faith; don't be discouraged, don't be disappointed; you will not lose your reward. I Peter 5:10 says "may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you." Amen! Be assured: 2014 will be better!
